Review by Lauren - The Eternal Kiss

The Eternal Kiss - Anthology
There’s an allure to vampire tales that have seduced readers for generations. From Bram Stoker to Stephanie Meyer and beyond, vampire stories are here to stay. For those fresh-blooded fans of paranormal romance or for those whose hunt and hunger never dies, these stories have what readers want!

This collection of original tales comes from some of the hottest, most popular, and best-selling YA writers, including:
• Holly Black (The Spiderwick Chronicles, Tithe)
• Libba Bray (A Great and Terrible Beauty)
• Melissa De La Cruz (Blue Blood)
• Cassandra Clare (City of Bones)
• Rachel Caine (Morganville Vampires)
• Nancy Holder & Debbie Viguie (Wicked)
• Cecil Castellucci (Boy Proof, Queen of Cool)
• Kelley Armstrong (Women of Otherworld)
• Maria V. Snyder
• Sarah Rees Brennan
• Lili St. Crow
• Karen Mahoney
• Dina James

They will make everyone a sucker for eternal kisses.

So I was in Coles on Friday for a job interview (cross your fingers) and I was browsing around because I was a bit early when I found it. Our book. And I will admit that I squealed. Alex & I do have 2 copies on order but whatever. Just in case you didn't know, we won a contest hosted by Libba Bray and she named her main characters in her contribution to the novel after us. So yes, the character in her story is named Lauren :):) And there is an Alex vampire as well.

First Impression: Do I really need to answer this? Peeing my pants with exitement.

Personally, I love anthologies. They give you story after story incredibly quickly. So many characters and so many interpretations of vampires.
It was really cool to see the different ways they were portrayed in different situations from full blown wars to secret back alley stuff.

Not too much to review but I definitely enjoyed it - probably my favorite anthology to date.

Favorite stories? All Hallows by Rachel Caine, The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black, The Thirteenth Step by Libba Bray (of course), and Passing by Nancy Holder & Debbie Viguie.

Final Impressions: This book did not disappoint.

AND INTRODUCING:

Add to the Shelf?*: Of course. This is my baby.

*I, unlike Alex, do not buy every single book I read. I carefully choose the select few that I absolutely adore (this usually being fantasy serieses) so to be added to the shelf - meaning "Would I buy this book?" - is a big deal. I usually just let Alex keep all the books we win because I just don't have space for every single book. To give you an idea, here are most of the books I own... not that they're big enough to even mae out their titles... First pic is my fantasy and second are my more traditional - Sarah Dessen and whatnot. So there you go.

4.5/6

For having a couple mediocre stories.

♥ Lauren

* EDIT BY ALEX: Need to point this out: I DON'T buy a lot of books. More than Lauren, sure. But really not that many. Most are library books! I really need to stress this point to... not seem like such a book shopaholic! I'm a shopaholic in rehab, thankyouverymuch. Improving greatly too.
