Thursday Thunks (10)

Welcome to the September 17th version of Thursday Thunks!
(which we always seem to post on Wednesday)
Where we make you think a little bit before you blog!
This week we will answer some crazy questions brought to you by Berleen, the number one thousand twenty seven and the color of leaves in the fall.

1. My daughter (aka Demon #1) informed me the other day that her hugs were worth a million dollars. Would you give up hugs - giving and receiving - for the rest of your life, for a million dollars?
Alex: Sure! I'm not a big hugger/touchy feely person to begin with. For a million dollars, I'd give up hugs. There's still snuggling and kissing and shoulder nudges. Plus with this H1N1 going around, we all should not be hugging. Tapping elbows is the way of the future!

Lauren: Dropped on her head as a baby.

2.Have you ever been bitten by a member of the canine family?
Alex: Aah... I don't believe so. But a dog has stolen my undergarments before.

Lauren: Haha no.

3. What is your favorite color of jeans?
Alex: Blue? Dark wash. Not hugely into the insanely bright colours.

Lauren: Dark, dark, dark. I hate that they fade over time.

4. What is something that has changed in public schools that you wish was the norm when you were in school?
Alex: Uuh still in school. So it's not really applicable.

Lauren: Same.

5. What is your news source?
Alex: Book blogs! That is for all book news. Otherwise... the msn home page and my family/friends.

Lauren: I listen to the radio when I get reading in the morning, then we have the news on during breakfast.

6. What sort of people do you think read your blog?
Alex: Wonderfully amazing people of course! :D

Lauren: Only the cool ones.

7. If I told you that I had a headache, you would say..........???
Alex: That sucks. Maybe take an Advil and sleep it off?

Lauren: Go take a pill.

8. You go to a buffet style restaurant, what is the first food you put on your plate?
Alex: Mashed potatoes. And fries. And any other potato-like foods because I love me those deeply.

Lauren: Salad lol. Because it comes first.

9. If you were stranded on a desert island.... no, we aren't asking that again. Lets put a twist into this. Would you volunteer to be dropped off on a desert island, to be picked up in a month? And you don't get to bring those 3 items, either.
Alex: Why would I volunteer? Do I get money? Something in payment at least? Because if not, no way. Peace and quiet is not worth that much.

Lauren: Psh no.

10. When the sun sets, what are you usually doing?
Alex: At home. Doing homework or more likely, procrastinating from doing homework. This means you, blog!

Lauren: Something mildly pathetic.

Thursday Thunks (9)

Welcome to the September 10th version of Thursday Thunks!
(which we always seem to post on Wednesday)
Where we make you think a little bit before you blog!
This week we will answer some crazy questions brought to you by
Kimber, the number 999 and the color of a butterfly sitting on a red rose.

1. A 90 year old man's dying wish in South Carolina was to be buried in his car. Link If you were told tomorrow you have 3 weeks to live, would you have any dying wishes or something special done before you died?
Alex: Why would you want to be buried in a car? And 3 weeks to live? Live as much as I could I guess. Do everything rapid speed. I'd read all those books I keep putting off, I'd tell everyone what I truly thought of them... and maybe I'd create some mayhem too. :D Because well, no one can get angry at the dying, right? And if so, I'd be in my grave soon after anyway, so whatever.

Lauren: I'd go to Ireland. And I'd track down Chris Pine and abduct him or something...

2. Do you pay for more stuff using a credit/debit card or cold hard cash?
Alex: I use my credit card for most things. (Because then my parents pay. Ha!) But I use my own money for food, candy, anything under 10 dollars when I feel it's not worth bothering with a credit card. Or they don't accept AmEx.

Lauren: I get my money transferred into my bank account so I'm usually just on debit

3. What's cuter- a baby lizard or a baby snake?
Alex: Neither? They both give my the shivers. I guess a baby lizard could be marginally cuter...

Lauren: Lizards. Itty bitty legs :):)

4. You go out to eat by yourself at a restaurant. While waiting for your food do you people watch & eavesdrop on others conversations, read a book, use a laptop or chat with people around you?
Alex: I'm eating by myself in a restaurant? How sad and lonely... but if that ever happened, I'd take out a book and read, while also eavesdropping. I'm a multitasker that like!

Lauren: Oh yeah I just chat up those strangers all the time...

Eavesdrop lol

5. If you see someone walking around with toilet paper stuck to their shoe, do you tell them or just laugh?
Alex: Laugh and then tell them. Or laugh and be telling them at the same time. XD

Lauren: ahhaha I'm not a nice enough person

6. You are talking to someone you just met but you can't understand them at all because of their accent. Do you tell them you can't understand them or just smile and nod?
Alex: Smile and nod! This happens to me all the time. Not that accents are just strong, but because I seem to be a little hard on the hearing. It usually turns out that the person is asking a question and probably think I'm stupid because I don't reply. :P

Lauren: I do the smile and nod.

7. Mudfest! Park filled with pools of mud and an obstacle course of mud. Do you go and play in the mud?
Alex: Eew. No. No thank you. Not at all. Yuckyuckyuck. Mud is dirty. And it would mess up my lovely outfit! ;)

Lauren: Lol alex. Depends on the situation, weather, what I'm wearing, who's involved etc.

8. Have you ever had a headache so bad it affected your vision?
Alex: I don't... believe so? I've had headaches, and I've had vision problems. But I don't think the headache is usually causing the problems of vision. It's more like I get up really quickly, get a headache while also seeing blurry.

Lauren: No.

9. Would you fit in more with the circus, Hollywood, Broadway, or comedy circuit types?
Alex: None of the above. Or wait. Is this acting in those types? Or can I just be a circus watcher or Broadway watcher? Because I'd so love to be a Broadway watcher and go to see shows all the time!

Lauren: Broadway? :)

Thursday Thunks (8)

Welcome to the September 3rd version of Thursday Thunks!
(which we always seem to post on Wednesday)
Where we make you think a little bit before you blog!
This week we will answer some crazy questions brought to you by Berleen, the number one thousand twenty six and the color of the dirt spot you need to wipe up on your kitchen floor.

1. Your thoughts on truck drivers?
Alex: Not much really. They're... good I guess? I don't really think about truck drivers that often. Don't they have those cool radios though with all those weird codes?

Lauren: What am I supposed to say? They're cool?

2. Did you hear Michelle Duggar is pregnant for the 15th time? (but that will be kid #19 if you lost count....)
Alex: Wow. Why in the world would you want 19 kids? When do you have TIME to make another kid with 18 to take care of? Just read the article- hadn't heard of Michelle Duggar before. The baby's going to be an aunt/uncle! But the niece will be younger. I've always found that so crazy.

Lauren: ... no.

3. Have you ever done something to hurt someone intentionally... just for the sole purpose of hurting them because you thought they deserved it? Maybe a paybacks a bitch sort of thing?
Alex: Uuum. Maybe? It would have been something little though, nothing big.

Lauren: My brother.

4. Is there anyone in your life that when you go to their place of residence, you just walk in without bother knocking? Does anyone just walk into your house without knocking?
Alex: Outside of my family... not really? Some people will just walk into my house though because my door is all glass.

Lauren: No.

5. Whats in the trunk of your car? Do you even have a clue?
Alex: Lots of crap. Foldaway chairs, reusable bags, some random junk.

Lauren: Safety kit :) blankets, flashlight...

6. When you go to a family holiday get together (such as Christmas or Thanksgiving), about how many people are there?
Alex: Quite a few I guess? Depends. 10-20 maybe.

Lauren: 10 at most

7. What is in your kitchen sink right at this very moment?
Alex: Some pots and pans?

Lauren: Mush.

8. You go to a store to buy an expensive item... say $150. You pick up that item and a couple other this n' thats. You get to the register and the expensive item rings up at $40. The cashier doesn't seem to notice and tells you your total. Do you go with what they say and pay it or do you question the price difference? You know you would question it if your $40 item rang up at $150....
Alex: If I thought I could get away with it... probably I would. But I'd never be buying something that's $150 anyway- way too much of a cheap student for that.

Lauren: I would tell them.

9. Do you fold your underwear or do you just toss it in a drawer?
Alex: Pfft as if. It's just all tossed in/sitting in a laundry basket because I'm too lazy to actual put them in my drawers.

Lauren: Tossed.

10. There is a Harley-Davidson giveaway. Chances are $100 and they are only selling 250 tickets. Do you buy one?
Alex: What's a Harley-Davidson giveaway?

Lauren: OMG HAHAHA ALEX!!!

So sheltered...
And I wouldn't.

11. Who is your favorite Disney character?

Alex: Ariel, the little mermaid. :) Or Mulan.

Lauren: Oh so many to chose from! Megara, Lumière - I like the sidekicks a lot.

12. It's September - most of the weekly sitcoms/dramas are starting new seasons again. Which one are you most looking forward to?
Alex: Glee! Lost and Heroes too, although I don't know when they start. I tend to watch on the internet because I find it more convenient.

Lauren: GLEE WAS SO GOOD! Heroes, So You Think You Can Dance.

13. You are at a grocery store and are on your way out to your car with your cart full of grocery bags. On your way to your car you see a black kitten in an empty cart. What do you do?
Alex: Well, I probably wouldn't see it because I am not at all observant. If I did see it... :/ Oh well. I'm allergic to cats, and so are some of my family. No cats allowed. Maybe push the cart inside the grocery store and get someone else to deal with it.

Lauren: See if it has a tag. Hang around to see if someone gets it.

14. Is there anything that you do for a hobby that you are asked to do for friends/family that most people would hire a professional to do? (example: cake decorating, fixing cars....)
Alex: Uumm not that I can think of. My hobbies aren't quite that useful. I knit and crochet... I can do bags and clothes? That's about it.

Lauren: Psh.

15. Are we there yet?
Alex: For the last time, NO. Now shut up and be quiet. Mommy's busy.

Lauren: I'm starting to get annoyed with these questions...

Thursday Thunks (7)

(which we always seem to post on Wednesday)
Where we make you think a little bit before you blog!
This week we will answer some crazy questions brought to you by
Kimber, the number of kids I have and the color of dead roses.

1. Have you ever played Bullshit?
Alex: I have, but never as that name. Having played as a kid from a young age, it was always just called Cheat. XD

Lauren: Yup

2. A dog licks you on your face. Are you disgusted or thinking it was sweet?
Alex: Eeew. Not much of an animal person and I don't like slobber all over my face, thankyouverymuch.

Lauren: She hates my dog. I can tell.
Well it depends where - I let my dog lick me as long as it doesn't come anywhere near my mouth or eyes. Otherwise, it's cool...

3. Tell us about a fun/special memory you have of a grandparent.
Alex: Playing mah-jong with my grandma, I guess. Or doing tai-chi with my granpa. Or eating dinner with my other grandparents. I can't really pick one.

Lauren: Lol tai-chi. I play mah-jong with my grandma - except you probably follow the hard core asian rules :)

4. Have you ever pet a rat?
Alex: Maybe...? I had some friends with pet rats- I may or may not have pet the rat.

Lauren: I have had two.

wow.

5. If I walked into your kitchen, where are the cups?
Alex: They are in the cupboard to the right of the fridge, just over the dishwasher. Very easy.

Lauren: In the corner above the toaster.

6. Since you already let me in your home, I found the cup and had water, now where's the bathroom from the kitchen?
Alex: Well, there are four bathrooms in the house. I'm assuming you want to go to the closest one. You go to the leftmost of the kitchen, then at the end of the kitchen, turn left. There's a hallway and second door to your right is the washroom.

Lauren: This is weird... cross the dining room and turn left. The light switch takes a minute to find because it's on the wrong side.

7. Have you ever pet a turtle or tortoise?
Alex: Same as number 4, maybe. This one's less likely though. But if my younger brother gets his way of a pet turtle, then I probably will eventually pet a turtle or tortoise.

Lauren: No.

Thursday Thunks (6)

1. Your thoughts on hunting?
Alex: Umm. I wouldn't do it. Guns = scary. Plus, I just saw a movie and a guy was killed by someone trying to hunt a deer. Anyone know what movie I'm thinking of?

Lauren: I think people should find better ways to entertain themselves.

2. Swine Flu vaccine... will you get it?
Alex: If I have to? I prefer not to, but if it's getting really bad, I guess I should.

Lauren: I'm not a fan of needles.

3. What is one job/profession that you think there are just too many of?
Alex: Fast food workers. Less people to work in fast food chains, less fast food restaurants there would be, and a healthier and happier Earth there would be. We could hope.

Lauren: hahaa ;) agreed?

4. I want to go on a diet, what advice will you offer me?
Alex: Dieting can be bad. Be careful. Don't suddenly cut food out from your life. I would say, only take out the junk food and make sure you still eat a balanced diet.

Lauren: Don't. You just end up fatter than before.

5. You are going out on a date with someone for the very first time. When you get into their car, you see a box of condoms on the floor. What do you do?
Alex: Ick. Scream and run. Scream and run. XD

Lauren: hahahaah your virgin eyes! I'd ignore them.

6. Name something in your bathroom that shouldn't be there.
Alex: A pile of books and Archie comics. All reread several times. Must change them for new ones.

Lauren: My bathroom is pretty well kept. There's some old soap down under the sink that should be thrown out though.

7. What was your Kindergarten teacher like?
Alex: My SK teacher was nice. I think. I don't really remember much from that far back.

Lauren: JK was cool... I don't remember anything from SK.

8. What kind of oil do you use when you cook?
Alex: I don't cook. I am able to make pasta/noodles in soup, or toast, or canned food. That's about it. I think there's canola oil though that's used in my house.

Lauren: Canola.

9. If someone takes an unflattering picture of you and posts it online, do you beg them to take it down or do you laugh at yourself with everyone else?
Alex: It depends how unflattering. If it's not that bad, laugh. If it's really bad and I'd regret people seeing it, I'd ask for it to be taken down.

Lauren: Well they never will take it down. So I just untag myself and pretend it doesn't exist.

10. What brand of dishwashing soap do you use?
Alex: I've never really noticed. My job is to unload the dishwasher, not load it. I don't like cleaning off dirty dishes. It's one of those little tablet things that you just toss into the dishwasher though.

Lauren: Dawn

Thursday Thunks (5)

1. Hypothetical question- you are in a building with famous works of art, old manuscripts of famous novels, and original sheet music from famous composers. The building is on fire and looks to be completely destroyed. Do you grab any of the famous works before fleeing, and if so what?
Alex: Hmmm... I don't know. Maybe. If I knew I had some time, I would. Which works, I don't know. The most precious and expensive ones I guess. I could then sell them for a really high price. But I'd save myself over any work.
Lauren: Whatever's closest.

2. In August 1969, the Manson family went on a 2 night killing spree. Do you think 40 years later they have paid for their crimes?
Alex: I have no idea. Is that an actual fact? What has happened to them in the 40 years? If they've gone to prison, have been punished, and now actually feel guilty, then I say maybe. But no one can ever truely pay for their crimes. Not 100%.
Lauren: Meaning Charles Manson? And he killed the director's wife? I really don't think they have. aaaand if this has nothing to do with charles manson, then my answer is still yes.

3. Power Outage! What's the longest you have been without power?

Alex: Uhhhh... a while? I remember one summer where there wasn't any power for like a week. It was boiling hot, and there was no air conditioning. I slept in the cool basement.
Lauren: I think that's when I was out on the East Coast ha. We got back and had to throw out all out meat. Probably like a day.

4. Just bought a new tazer gun. Will you let it be tested it on you to see if it works, and how it feels to be tazered?
Alex: Ick, no way. I am not into pain. Not a masochist.
Lauren: Um... no.

5. A neighbor's mail was delivered to you. In it is a magazine not wrapped in plastic. Is it ok for you to flip through it before giving it to the neighbor? Do you tell them you looked through it?

Alex: I wouldn't. Unless it's a magazine that looks interesting... no, no I wouldn't. I would just look at the magazine in the store if I wanted to flip through it. So I'd just give the mail to my neighbor like a good, minding-her-own-business girl.
Lauren: Depends on the magazine. Reader's Digest? No... Vogue? Sure.

6. If I went through your purse/wallet right now, what all would I find in there?

Alex: In my wallet, you would find various cards, such as my SPC card, Famous Players card, library card etc. Something like a 20$ bill. Some change. My hideous student ID card. My purse, on the other hand, is filled with everything. It has lip chap, mirror/hairbrush, book, allergy medication + epipen, keys, wallet, some squished up granola bar and candy, scrap pieces of paper, a pencil.
Lauren: Gift cards, I just wiped out about two pounds of receipts. Some change, a hideous drivers liscense... cards? Oh and my purse... Burt's Bees, sunglasses, Aerie underwear coupon :):)

7. Have you been living under a rock?
Alex: I don't believe so. Perhaps some metaphorical rock though?
Lauren:

8. Tell us something crazy you did this week.
Alex: I took Driver's Ed and lived.
Lauren: Did nothing because Alex was in Driver's Ed and lived.

Thursday, August 6, 2009

Thursday Thunks (4)

1. What the hell were you thinking?
Alex: I really thought I could fly! But I can't. Apparently, jumping out of the window with a bedsheet in my hands doesn't mean I can fly. But really, who would have thought?

Lauren: I know, I know, I should have latched myself onto her legs and refused to let her go through with it... but really, living with someone who tries to fly on a daily basis? Tireing.

2. The tornado sirens go off in your neighborhood - what do you do?
Alex: I didn't realize we could get tornados where I live. But that's bad. Ummm. Tornadoes. You're supposed to go down to the basement right? And take cover?

Lauren: Do you know that there was a GINORMOUS thunder storm two days ago and a littly baby tornado was spotted right by my cottage? It was freeeeeeeeaky. I would go sit in the bathtub and cry.

3. Give us a recipe.
Alex: Rice crispies, marshmallows, butter, vanilla. Mix 'em all together and you know you get... it's the best of both worlds! Erm, no, actually it's rice crispie squares. :) Yum.

Lauren: 1 cup peanut butter, 1 egg, 1 cup sugar. There you go. Peanut butter cookies... there might be flour involved? :/

4. It's the middle of the night, there isn't a car in sight and you are stuck at a red light that just won't change.... how long do you wait until you run it?
Alex: Well, I can't actually drive yet. But say it's the near future- I'd wait for it to change. I'm too new at driving to risk anything.

Lauren: Drivers Ed has taught me well. There could be a police man waiting in the bushes.

5. When was the last time you got all dressed up fancy-like? Where did you go?
Alex: Hmmm. Fancy... fancy... Um. I can't remember. There was a high school dance I went to that I dressed up for, a year and a half ago. It was semi-formal. The only dance I've ever gone to so far. Or my award ceremony, at the beginning of last year, so almost a year ago.

Lauren: Music night :)

6. Have you ever had a mole removed?
Alex: Nope.

Lauren: No but my mom is covered in freckles and she has.

7. Are you in an area of record highs or record lows for the temps this summer? Are you lucky and stuck in the middle where it's somewhat normal?
Alex: I'm pretty sure we're getting some record rain amounts. It seriously rains almost everyday. Thunderstorms even. It's terrible. Not the kind of summer we usually get.

Lauren: It has been AWFUL. So cold and rainy :(

8. When was the last time you changed your furnace filter?
Alex: I don't know. My dad does it. I'm pretty sure it was recently though.

Lauren: ...

9. What's your favorite type of frog?
Alex: ... the cute kind?

Lauren: Thumbnail toads. Except they pee in your hand but they're so cute :):)

10. If you were to go on America's Got Talent, what would you do for your talent? (and choosing not to go is not an option....)
Alex: Erk. Is reading books a talent? I don't have a special talent that would go well with America's Got Talent, really.

Lauren: So, so sad Alex. I can hook my hands behind my back and put my head through the hole... and wiggle my ears... and my nostrils... and raise both eyebrows individually. But I wouldn't win... I'd do better than Alex though :):)

11. Have you ever been on a rooftop of a building?
Alex: Does my own house count? If so, then yes. That's about it.

Lauren: I don't know and i'm too lazy to think about it.

12. What is the first website you go to each day when you sit down at your computer, other than your email?
Alex: This blog, a flight of minds.

Lauren: Facebook. Then livejournal. Then random other places... I know I should be saying here but I don't lol.

Thursday Thunks (3)

So sadly, Lauren's away and this will be a one person TT. :( I know, not quite as fun, but please, bear with me. Lauren may edit in or something when she gets back, but that won't be for a while, so it's doubtful. Anyway, without further ado, here's this week's Thursday Thunks!

1. You are in an enclosed space with a group of friends. Elevator, auto, small room, etc.. You fart and it really stinks. Do you take credit for it or do you play along with the questioning of who did it?
Alex: I play along with questioning. I'm not the sort of person to fart and be proud of it...

2. You are locked in a room sitting at a desk with just a piece of paper and a purple crayon. What do you draw?
Alex: Ooh purple. :) My favourite colour. I'd draw anything with any colour. The colour doesn't stop me. I tend to doodle and draw faces and heads of people, so that's what I'd draw. I purple person head. XD

3. Do you ever pee in the shower?
Alex: Eeerm... no... -shifty eyes- Kidding! I don't. I pee before going into the shower.

4. Have you bought, sold or got rid of something on Craigslist?
Alex: Well, seeing how I have no idea what or who Craigslist is, the answer is indeed, a big no.

5. You are in a convenience store. In the line in front of you is a drunk guy trying to purchase more alcohol. The cashier tells him they cannot sell it to him because he is obviously already intoxicated. He gets belligerent. The cashier is scared. What do you do?
Alex: I don't get involved. Sorry cashier. I wouldn't be a huge help anyway. I have no experience dealing with drunks, and well... I wouldn't be able to do anything. I tend to suck at calming people down.

6. While shopping for produce, do you "sample" before you buy (i.e. grapes)?
Alex: As in just taking a grape and eating it at the store? No, I don't. Grapes are still dirty then! You have to wash them first. I do go around stores looking for little stands with free samples though. Costco's the best for that.

7. You are walking down the street and there is a toddler sitting on a bench by themselves in front of a store - do you just keep walking?
Alex: Aaw. It depends. Maybe I smile at the kid. If the kid responds and seems okay, I keep walking. If the kid's bawling his/her eyes out, I'll go help the poor thing.

8. Have you looked up an old friend and/or lover online?
Alex: Well, that's what Facebook is for. Stalking old childhood classmates and the like. :P

9. You are nearly in a car/auto accident. Do you freak out, follow the person who nearly caused it & talk to them or just keep going?
Alex: Well, I'm obviously a little shaken up. Maybe I yell something to a driver, say if it's their fault, but I'm not about to stop and talk to them. I just keep going.

Thursday Thunks (2)

1. You walk into a store and the cashier is being held up by a robber. The robber's accomplice is dead on the floor at your feet with a shotgun laying next to him. The robber does not see you, but the cashier does - what do you do?

Alex: Most likely, I run. A gun and someone's dead! If I'm for some reason feeling particularly brave, maybe I'll grab something hard and whack the robber on the head with it, knocking the robber out. I'd quite like to be a local hero actually....

Lauren: Hold him up. I definitely would.

2. We go to an ice cream shop for an ice cream cone. You say you are buying and I am going to stay in the car. You ask me what I want and I say "surprise me", what kind of ice cream cone am I going to get?

Alex: I get you vanilla. Because there is nothing wrong with vanilla and everyone likes vanilla well enough. Not much of a surprise, but live with it.

Lauren: Wow what a downer you are... Well I'd get you something that has nasty potential... chocolate cherry cheesecake anyone?

3. You have a dream that your co-worker, friend or whoever is hit by a garbage truck after they back into a ladder with a black cat on it. The next day you see that person standing by a ladder with a black cat on it and there is a garbage truck driving down the road.... what do you do?

Alex: Well, I guess it depends on my position to the person. If I'm close, I'd try to pull the person away. If I'm far, I wave my arms like a maniac screaming something nonsensical in a panic, which most likely, the person doesn't understand. In which case the person keeps standing there and gets hit by the truck. So hopefully, I'm close.

Lauren: Watch as fate unfolds.

4. What is the most money you've won on a lottery or scratch off ticket?

Alex: I'm too young to buy a lottery ticket. I believe I scratched a scratch off ticket for my dad when I was a lot younger though, and won something like 5 bucks.

Lauren: Like nothing...

5. A neighbor kid down the street comes to your door and offers to wash all of your windows outside for $10 - do you have him do it?

Alex: Of course! That's quite the deal. And it means I wouldn't have to do it. Plus my windows are looking miiighty dirty. I'd pay the kid after though, to make sure he did a good job first.

Lauren: Sure thing. Maybe it'll coincide with this mysterious black cat incident...

6. Go to Google Images. Type in the name of the last movie you saw. Post the first picture that comes up.
Alex: And there it is. Actually, it's the second picture that came up, but the first picture's link wasn't working. The picture's from I Love You, Beth Cooper, which I saw on Tuesday. It's based on a book which I believe Lauren has read, although I haven't. The movie's worth the 4 bucks I paid (since it was Cheap Tuesday) but wouldn't be worth the regular 10.50$.

Lauren: HARRY POTTERRRRRRRRRRRR

You don't get a picture. You get gifs, which take forever to figure out. Good Lord that took me ages. You'd better appreciate it.

Photobucket

7. Your local animal shelter calls you and says there are 3 dogs that need an immediate foster home for 3 days. If you do not accept, the dogs are put down that day. Do you take them in?

Alex: My family's allergic to dogs. :( So am I. I'd probably try to find the poor dogs a home, but I wouldn't take them in myself. However, I'd most likely think the call is a prank call, in which case I'd hang up and the poor dogs would die...

Lauren: OMG YES. My doggie is adopted. She's a little cutie :) She's kindof grumpy looking here though...

8. What is the messiest room in your home?

Alex: All rooms? My house is a constant mess- Lauren can attest to this. Probably the messiest though... is any room in the basement. The craft room, my mom's sewing room, the second toy room. Those are all just stacked with all these different things that take up a whole bunch of room since my mom hates garage sales and we are all packrats.

Lauren: AHAHHAHAHA YOU HAVE NOT SEEN MESSY UNTIL YOU HAVE SEEN ALEX'S HOURSE. Dear Lord. Huh well I guess mine is. Even though it isn't. My family likes to keep everything neat and I just happen to have more stuff than everyone else.

9. Have you ever been to a wedding that participated in a strange tradition that you had never heard of?

Alex: A strange tradition...? I don't know. I've been to two weddings: my aunt's and uncle's and both times I was the flowergirl. I remember those funny games the bride and groom had to play, like transferring a Starburst to the other's mouth.

Lauren: I've only been to one wedding. I was 3 :(

10. Name one sport that you just don't get.

Alex: Football. Why would anyone want to play a game so violent? And all the guys are really weirdly buff and wear tights. Um, no.

Lauren: lol I would say rugby, but I learned how to play last year. It's really weird though, I will admit.

11. What was the last email that came into your inbox about?

Alex: Well it depends on which email you're talking about. My personal email, or the aflightofminds one. My personal, it was last a American Eagle email actually. Aflightofminds was from Free Book Friday Teen.

Lauren: Yup American Eagle promotion.

12. Have you ever purchased anything from a sex shop? Extra points if you tell us what it was....

Alex: Ummm... no. What kind of questions are these?

Lauren: ... no.

13. Go back to that Google Images link... type in the last food item that you ate. Post the 2nd picture it comes up with.

Alex: Stir fry noodles. Yuuuuum. Those aren't the actual ones though, obviously.

Lauren: Cheerios. And every time I add a photo here it screws up the format so i'm just going to let you picture it. Sorry.

14. Got any bumper stickers on your vehicle? What are they?

Alex: I don't own a vehicle. Too young to drive. Although I will be able to soon... None of my parents' vehicles have bumper stickers either, actually.

Lauren: *snort* With my parents?

15. What meme question do you wish was never asked again?

Alex: Well, I've only done two memes. Buuut out of themm, I don't really know. Maybe last week's Queen's meme thing because I had no idea what it was about?

Lauren: How but that weird one about the black cat?

Thursday Thunks (1)

Our first Thursday Thunks. :) It sounds fun, so we thought we'd try it. It was. This will probably be a weekly meme for us, and will be replacing Booking Through Thursday most likely. Who knows, maybe one week we'll get ambitious and do both...

Welcome to the July 16th version of Thursday Thunks!
(which we always seem to post on Wednesday)
Where we make you think a little bit before you blog!
This week we will answer some crazy questions brought to you by
Kimber, the number 15 and the color of windows

1. Do you know anyone with
heterochromia? Does it freak you out or do you think it's interesting?
Lauren: Yep. A girl at my elementary school had an eye with two colours in it.
Alex: Ditto. We went to the same school although I never realized the girl had heterochromia. It's... interesting I guess. It doesn't freak me out or anything at least.

2. Should a 5th face be added to Mount Rushmore? If so, who?
Lauren: Michael Jackson
Alex: Would I seem self absorbed if I said myself? XD

3. If you could live on any planet other than earth, which one would you choose and why?
Lauren: Neptune. The big planets really scare me. And the little ones all kindof suck... I think I would live on Neptune. Everywhere seems so lonely though but Neptune isn't HUGE and it's not called Uranus...
Alex: Sure, I'll go with Neptune also. It's a pretty colour. :)
Lauren: Yeah, and has rings.

4. We're going to spend the night at a reportedly haunted location, are you going with us?
If so, which reportedly haunted place are we going?
Lauren: We are not going anywhere. I don't like scary things. My open closet at night scares me.
Alex: Um, excuse me, do I know you? My mother always tells me not to talk and wander off with strangers... especially not to any reportedly haunted locations.

5. Did you play The Queen's Meme this week? If so, was it fair of The Queen to put Berleen in the dungeon by association with Kimber? (We all know Kimber deserved it, but Berleen?!)
Lauren:l Uhhh what? Go ask Alex. She'll know.
Alex: I don't actually know. Contrary to Lauren's beliefs, I'm not all knowing... sadly.

6. What color is the towel(s) hanging in your bathroom?
Lauren: I am at my grandmothers. They are yellow and look to be at least 10 years old.
Alex: Well, that depends on which bathroom. The bathroom I use has many different towels. There's a light blue, dark blue, and a red one. Mine's the red one.

7. Tell us something funny that happened to you recently.
Lauren: On Tuesday, my mother was convinced it was Monday. On Wednesday she'd convinced herself it was Saturday.
That's all I got.
Alex: Well, this story is kind of funny. More like I just want to tell it. XD So, I'm in Chapters today with a stack of books in my arm. Almost 10 books/mangas. And there's these two girls standing close by. You know the type. Girls who have thin tanktops, short shorts, dyed hair, way too much makeup, the overall annoying personalities. And I hear them whispering to each time, "Ohemgee. Look at how many books that girl has in her arms. Gigglegigglesnickersnicker."
I'm just like, whatever. Maybe they're looking down on me, but really, I'm looking down on them. Those types of girls are just... bleh. Really, I'm repulsed by them. It's not bad to read. Also, I saw them putting back Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. I hate them even more. :P So that's my funny story that's not really funny. I guess it's funny, not the haha funny but the twisted funny, at least to me. Funny that I look down at them as they look down on me.

8. We just bought you a cow. Do you kill it & grill it, feed it & milk it, or sell it?
Lauren: Can I keep it as a pet?
Alex: Umm I hand it over to someone to kill and grill. Then I eat. Maybe I'd keep it for a bit first though, to mow the lawn...

9. It's 115 degrees outside (46 degrees Celsius), are you able to go without Air Conditioning?
Lauren: First off, thanks for the Celsius translation. And no friggin' way. Good lord no... I think I would have to like soak in a tub all day. Thankfully, we Canadians live in igloos all year round so that'll never happen.
Alex: She's joking if you hadn't realized. It actually gets hot here, although not quite as high as 46 generally. And I do not live without air conditioning in hot hot heat. Screw global warming and all that.

10. When you visit the zoo do you wonder which animal tastes better with a bit of butter & spices?
Lauren: Last time I went to the zoo, I cried.
Alex: No, I'm not quite that cruel. Or maybe it's never come to mind... next time I go to the zoo I'll probably be debating now if the zebra or the elephant will taste better now though. :P

11. Dog ate your homework/work papers. Does it crap out Shakespeare, quantum physics, or just crap?
Lauren: Can it crap out both? I don't understand what this question wants...
Alex: I have no dog. And school's out. For next year though, if I had a dog, it would be crapping out Shakespeare and physics. Yuck.

12. We are taking you to a broadway show, what are we going to see?
Lauren: Oooo well I just saw Jersey Boys but I really want to see West Side Story. In Broadway.
Alex: Fun stuff. We are going to see all the different broadway shows we can. The end.

13. Gunshots in your neighborhood. Pop, pop, pop. Do you go out to take a look, or hide?
Lauren: I dig myself a pit and hide.
Alex: I get someone else to go look while I hide behind someone else. XD

Alex: Okay, so some how I come off really mean in this. Really, I'm not. Usually... It's fun though to answer like this though. XD I'm just crazy like that maybe...
