Friday Facts (4)

This is a little late, so please accept our deepest apologies. We were going to do music, but because this is Zombie Appreciation Week, it's going to be dedicated to zombies and anything else to do with zombies. The music facts will come next week instead.

1. There are several different definitions of a zombie, some being:
  1. A supernatural power or spell that according to voodoo belief can enter into and reanimate a corpse.
  2. A corpse revived in this way.
  3. One who looks or behaves like an automaton.

(all taken from answers.com)

2. Some of the usual and/or stereotyped zombie characteristics:

  • Zombies eat humans and brains.
  • Zombies are commonly found in groups.
  • Zombies are slow and uncoordinated.
  • Zombies' bites are infectuous and may very well kill you.

3. Zombies are creepy.

4. Zombies are rising in popularity now along with several other paranormal creatures.

Switching over to more personal zombie facts...

5. The Forest of Hands and Teeth is the only zombie book Lauren and Alex have both read.

6. According to fact 1. c, two books Alex has recently read, Lipstick Apology and Fire, both include zombies in a very loose sense.

7. Alex forgot Kiss of Life, sequel to Generation Dead, by Daniel Waters at school. This means there is not going to be a zombie book review for zombie week! Ack!

Uuh yeah. That's all we could come up with at the moment. On a better note, others have joined into the Friday Fact fun! Yep, craziness! :D So you should go check theirs out if you haven't already:

The Neverending Shelf

A Passion For Books

We'd do a Mr. Linky if we knew how, but since we don't... oh well. If you've done a Friday Facts and want us to link to it, just leave us a link in the comments!

Zombie...

Yeah, I couldn't think of a cool title, hence the title simply being "Zombie..." -sigh- how unoriginal and boring.

So, got this from Kristen at Bookworming in the 21st Century:

The Zombie Bite Calculator

Created by The Oatmeal

Umm, that's pretty good, right? Almost an hour? Take the quiz and we can compare time lengths! (I'm hoping 58 isn't the lowest. :P)

And because I have time before school, I present you a zombie cartoon!

Ahaha... Okay, I thought it was cute.

And also, Lauren and I apologize if we became MIA. School is starting today and you know how that can be. You can rest assured that if you do not see us too often, it means we've become zombies.

Zombies with an overload of homework and a lack of sleep. I know that I may end up sleep walking through the school year. But we'll both try to update frequently! And now that we've discovered how to schedule posts... even better!

:/ Yeah, crappy zombie post. We'll try to think of something better than this for the next post. Maybe a review? Lauren's hoping there's zombies in Catching Fire so that we can count that toward Zombie Week. xD

Zooooombie Week!

Yes, yes indeed. We have decided to join the zombie appreciation week! Oh, you want to know what it's about?

Pretty much, at A Flight of Minds, we will have reviews of zombie books such as Kiss of Life by Daniel Waters and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Seth Grahame-Smith. We'll also toss in some zombie fun ramblings and well... we'll see. There's such a variety of zombie books out at the moment- from the crazy and silly high school zombie fun to the zombies that really will tear your brains out and eat.

Oh, and we're not the only ones doing zombie week. If you want to find out more about Zombie Week and who else is participating, you can go to September Zombies. There you will find lots of zombie related posts and links.

And yeah. So it sounds fun, doesn't it? You want to join too, don't you? Course. So just go follow that link!
