In My Mailbox (3)

Sigh. And I missed last week. I'm not even sure why I didn' to it... I didn't have to study or anything for once. Anyway, as usual, this meme is hosted by Kristi who was inspired by Alea.

Bad to the Bone by Melody Mayer
Put on your bikini and dive into The Nannies!

Esme is back at the Goldhagens’ ritzy estate, trying to juggle being a nanny and a celebrity tattoo artist. She’s trying to juggle guys as well. But none of this matters if a mistaken immigration raid gets her parents deported from the United States forever. . . .
Lydia has an entire Beverly Hills mansion to herself. It’s a dream come true, only with no money and no one to cuddle. She’s beyond bored. Until she meets a young R&B star and becomes part of her entourage. . . .
It’s round-the-clock craziness as Kiley’s boss prepares to rock out at the VMAs. In between running ridiculous errands and getting ready to start her senior year at Bel Air High, Kiley meets a super cute guy. A guy who tells her some really bad things about her boyfriend, Tom.
It's been a while since I read the previous Nannies book, but hopefully that will be okay. Nannies is usually a nice light read, good for summer.

Everything Beautiful by Simmone Howell
Riley Rose, atheist and bad girl, has been tricked into attending Spirit Ranch, a Christian camp. There she meets Dylan Kier, alumni camper and recent paraplegic, who arrives with a chip on his shoulder and a determination to perfect all of his bad habits. United in their personal suffering and in their irritation at their fellow campers, they turn the camp inside out as they question the meaning of belief systems, test their faith in each other, and ultimately settle a debate of the heart.

Got this book out from the library before, wasn't able to read it, so requested it again.

This Is What I Want to Tell You by Heather Duffy Stone
Friendship,
love,
and unexpected secrets

Nadio and his twin sister, Noelle, always had a unique bond. And somehow, Keeley Shipley fit perfectly into their world. But when Keeley spends the summer in England, she comes home changed, haunted by a dark memory. As she and Nadio fall in love, they try to hide it from Noelle, who''s jealously guarding a secret of her own. Slowly, a life-long friendship begins to crack under the crushing weight of past trauma, guarded secrets, jealousy, obsession . . . and an unexpected love that could destroy them.

Sounds interesting, doesn't it?

The Uninvited by Tim Wynne Jones
Mimi Shapiro had a disturbing freshman year at NYU, thanks to a foolish affair with a professor who still haunts her caller ID. So when her artist father, Marc, offers the use of his remote Canadian cottage, she’s glad to hop in her Mini Cooper and drive up north. The house is fairy-tale quaint, and the key is hidden right where her dad said it would be, so she’s shocked to fi nd someone already living there — Jay, a young musician, who is equally startled to meet Mimi and immediately accuses her of leaving strange and threatening tokens inside: a dead bird, a snakeskin, a cricket sound track embedded in his latest composition. But Mimi has just arrived, so who is responsible? And more alarmingly, what does the intruder want? Part gripping thriller, part family drama, this fast-paced novel plays out in alternating viewpoints, in a pastoral setting that is evocative and eerie — a mysterious character in its own right.

How many books are there going to be with the title Uninvited? I mean, really, it gets confusing. Still, the book sounds really interesting and I will definitely read it sometime.

Going Too Far by Jennifer Echols
HOW FAR WOULD YOU GO?

All Meg has ever wanted is to get away. Away from high school. Away from her backwater town. Away from her parents who seem determined to keep her imprisoned in their dead-end lives. But one crazy evening involving a dare and forbidden railroad tracks, she goes way too far...and almost doesn''t make it back.

John made a choice to stay. To enforce the rules. To serve and protect. He has nothing but contempt for what he sees as childish rebellion, and he wants to teach Meg a lesson she won''t soon forget. But Meg pushes him to the limit by questioning everything he learned at the police academy. And when he pushes back, demanding to know why she won't be tied down, they will drive each other to the edge -- and over....

I'm excited for this book! I've read good stuff about it, and it sounds like a really good romcom. :D

Willow by Julia Hoban
Seven months ago, on a rainy March night, sixteen year- old Willowas parents died in a horrible car accident. Willow was driving. Now her older brother barely speaks to her, her new classmates know her as the killer orphan girl, and Willow is blocking the pain by secretly cutting herself. But when one boy aone sensitive, soulful boyadiscovers Willowas secret, it sparks an intense relationship that turns the asafea world Willow has created for herself upside down.

Told in an extraordinary fresh voice, "Willow" is an unforgettable novel about one girl's struggle to cope with tragedy, and one boyas refusal to give up on her.

I saw this book in Chapters when it first came out, and I finally got it from my library! Yay.

I was thinking of including last week's books too, but I really just don't have the time to. :( Stupid exams to study for.
